Google 公佈其用於深度學習的硬體加速器 (TPU) 的效能，主要是針對 inference 的部分，而非 training。

速度方面：比 GPU 與 CPU 快了 15x ~ 30x。

耗能方面：比 GPU 與 CPU 省了 30x ~ 80x。

這代表什麼呢？給大家兩個想像空間：

1. 很自然大家會想到以後 Google Cloud Platform 會支援 TPU，這將會讓更多人跳到 GCP 平台。我谷威武！

2. 移動裝置有機會使用 TPU 加速，讓傳統需要在雲端計算的能力，拿到移動裝置上。
